LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, THE CORONAVIRUS HAS EFFECTED THE KAUFMAN FUND LEGAL REFERRAL PROGRAM. WE ARE STILL AVAILABLE TO HELP VETERANS IN NEED OF LEGAL SERVICES BUT ARE OPERATING AT A SLOWER PACE DURING THIS NATIONWIDE EMERGENCY. MOST COURTS ARE CLOSED, ATTORNEYS ARE WORKING FROM HOME WHEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE USE OF LEGAL LIBRARIES AND OTHER TOOLS AND OUR STAFF IS ALSO WORKING FROM HOME. WE STILL WANT TO HELP YOU BUT KNOW IT MAY BE AT A SLOWER PACE. IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF OUR SERVICES IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU START BY CALLING 314-977-5458. If you need legal help in St. Louis City, St. Louis County or St. Charles county, The Kaufman Fund Legal Referral Program and our partners may be able to help you. We have partnered with support agencies and attorneys willing to assist Veterans needing legal assistance in the locations described above.
To get started follow these steps:
Step 1: Call St. Francis Community Services, Veterans Advocacy Project at 314-977-5458. All requests must start by calling this number.
Step 2: The contact on the phone will take important information regarding your needs and tell you what the next step in the process will be.
Step 3: If eligible your case will be referred to an attorney who will contact you to assist with your case.
Please note: The Kaufman Fund Veterans Legal Referral Program does not take direct requests for services. Our community partners assist in the transfer of information when they are unable to provide legal services based upon their eligibility requirements.
