Board of Directors

WAYNE KAUFMAN, President

Wayne KaufmanWayne has been in the home improvement industry for more than 48 years. He is a Certified Remodeler, credentialed by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), and a current board member of Rebuilding Together St Louis, the 1904 World’s Fair Charitable Foundation, the North West (St. Louis) Chamber of Commerce, and former board member of Old Newsboys (St. Louis.) He is also the incumbent chairman of VetNet, the Saint Louis Ambassadors’ Veterans Affairs, and president of The Kaufman Fund. Wayne was also honored as a recipient of the 2015 “Unsung Heroes” Award from the St. Louis Jewish Light. His past contributions to the community include the following former presidencies: the St Louis Remodeling Association, NARI Board of Directors, Rotary Club of Ferguson, Mo, Asthma and Allergy Foundation of St Louis, and past chairman of the Old Newsboys’ Ralph Kaufman Memorial Golf Tournament. Wayne served in the United States Army for 3 years during the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of sergeant in the 25th Infantry Division and was awarded both the Bronze Star Medal and the Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster.

 

STEVE ROSENBLUM, Vice-President

Steve RosenblumOwned & operated Jason's Restaurant for over 35 years. Co-Owned The Stage Deli in Plaza Frontenac, a full service New York themed Deli restaurant & two Cheeburger Cheeburger restaurants in New York & Florida. Graduate of Michigan State University Hotel & Restaurant School. Served in the US Army Reserves. Served on the Board of Directors for Missouri Restaurant Association, St Louis. Board member of The Miriam Foundation supporting Children who learn differently for 12 years. Recognized by Matthews-Dickey Boy's Club in 1978 as a Person of The Year. Married for 45 years with two adult children and 6 grandsons.

JIM MARCELLINO, Treasurer

Jim MarcellinoJim Marcellino is originally from Maryland and a graduate from Towson University (located in Baltimore, Maryland) with a BS - Accounting in 1994.  Has worked for a multiple companies in the accounting field and has been with his current employer (EAN Services LLC) for the past 25+ years.  Has lived in St Louis since 1999.  He served in the US Navy (Active: 1985-89 and Reserves: 1989 – 1998) with his final rank of Chief Petty Officer.

 

MATT NYBERG, Member-At-Large

Matt Nyberg

Matt Nyberg has been involved in the home modernization industry for over 35 years. He was born and raised in St. Louis. He and his family currently reside in High Ridge Missouri. h

He is a graduate of McClure North. Matt makes it a point to have a positive impact on others by inspiring with ideas to help themselves live to the fullest potential. His interests are physical fitness and Krav Maga. He has been married for over 25 years with one daughter, two black panthers, a golden retriever and you can’t forget Commander the horse

 

 

Frader Smith, Board Secretary

Frader Smith

Frader Smith is originally from Chicago, Illinois. Frader served in the U.S. Army (11 years active, 10 years reserves). Frader was deployed to Iraq in 2009 – 2010 as part of 620th CSSB. She retired as Sergeant First Class (E7).

Frader served 29 years of federal service with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She retired as the Assistant Chief of the Centralized Support Division at the St. Louis VA Regional Office. In this role she was responsible for 415 personnel who had the nationwide responsibility of responding to Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act requests for records from Veterans and third parties. She also supported all 58 VBA Regional Offices in obtaining military personnel and medical records to assist in processing Veterans benefit claims.

 

 

Shelia Schneider, Executive Director

Shelia Schneider

Shelia’s work experience is vast due to her husband being in the Air Force for 20 years. Their travels included living in: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Atwater, California; Great Fall, Montana; and Warrensburg, Missouri. Robert Schneider served as an NCO with Security Forces until his retirement in 2005. Shelia worked at the University of Central Missouri for 23 years before returning to St. Louis. Prior to becoming the Executive Director of The Kaufman Fund, Shelia served as Chair of the Kaufman Fund’s Food for Vets committee while working at St. Patrick Center with the homeless veteran employment program.
